Excell La Fayette Jr. is currently owner & president of La Fayette Enterprises, LLC, a supplier diversity strategist and retail business consultant company.

An astute businessman, corporate executive, motivational speaker, and broadcast media specialist, Excell served as Director of Supplier Development and Administration for Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. for more than seven years. It was a promotion from his responsibility for Wal-Mart's cutting-edge Supplier Diversity Program from 1999-2005, where he directed more than $3 billion of procurement for diverse suppliers. Toward the end of his tenure, he also directed new supplier on-boarding, administration, and insurance compliance within Wal-Mart Stores, Inc..

Prior to serving in Supplier Development, Excell was Manager for the Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. Television Network from 1994 to 1998. In this position, he provided audio-visual broadcast creative, production, and training for Wal-Mart's domestic and international divisions.

Before joining Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., Excell was a Video Production Representative for Oklahoma-based ConocoPhillips Petroleum Company providing media support and creativity for the company's corporate public affairs, safety, executive and legal divisions. Prior to that position, he worked for KTUL-TV-Channel 8 in Oklahoma from 1983 to 1989, as well as with ABC, CBS, NBC, ESPN, and FOX.

Re-appointed by Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe as Chair to the Arkansas Minority Business Advisory Council, Excell also serves on numerous boards and has received numerous awards and honors, including:

A graduate of Langston University in Langston, Oklahoma, Excell holds a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Broadcast Journalism. He currently has 15 graduate hours toward his Masters degree in Leadership & Ethics. Excell and his family reside in Bentonville, Arkansas.
